NATACHA DONZÉ, LAILA KALETTA, VICENTE LESSER

The exhibition series Raumfahrt (Space Travel) presents young Swiss art in the basement rooms of the museum. The term «space travel» is to be taken quite literally, as the public is invited to explore formerly inaccessible rooms of the Langmatt and get to know a «different» Langmatt beyond the stately rooms on the upper floor.

The seventh edition is the last before the upcoming overall renovation of the museum. 2023 is thus a wonderful time for the Langmatt to explore journeys into space, into the future, but also mysterious inner worlds. The exhibition will feature artistic positions that deal with themes such as outer space, futurism and science fiction and reflect the inner worlds of experience that they evoke. The preoccupation with scientific progress, overwhelming technology, fantastic visions of the future and the vastness of space can be equally dangerous and pleasurable. Nevertheless, a protective suit is not necessary.
